What's Wrong With Us??!!!

It’s saddening of what we are becoming nowadays. I don’t know what’s wrong with us. What’s it with us and prank calls. From radio Deejays making prank calls to all for corners of the world (I’ve heard them pranking Disneyland Hong Kong, and many more), to the over 600 calls made to the fire department last year, and even more to the 999 number.

That aside, the thing that made me so mad today is the news of prank calls, extortions and even a “just for fun” impersonator posing as policemen to the parents of poor Sharlinie, who got kidnapped recently.

I just can’t imagine what they are thinking when they did it. Recently a school boy was arrested for trying to extort RM10,000 from the parents, and even asks for RM200 top up. A life-sized doll was also placed near their house, almost like they’re trying to mock the parents.

Today, the news reports of a pair of impersonator trying to pose as policemen from Bukit Aman, asking for better photos of sharlinie, because the one they have is not that clear. They, however, got caught red-handed, and got the beating of their lifetime. I guess they deserve it.

I don’t know, if this is a social epidemic, where the symptoms include making fun out of those whose in grief. But what I know is, what was done was so inappropriate, that I believe humans are the only living organisms that taunts their own wounded, or grieved.

And to think, that we thought we’re on top of the food chain.

And to think, that we thought we’re the Caliph of the world.

I am so disappointed.
