Okay, I’d have to admit, I’m a bit excited here. After a long period of existence, at last, some wise-crack who may have learnt or worked in marketing or sales, and knows the psychoanalytical method of human behaviour or a merely simple program made by some poor person in a not so poor country in dire need of more money decided to add my email to his/her/its phishing list.

Albeit being too obvious, these methods are said to be effective. Proof? I know a certain IT department’s HOD who sent out credit card information via unsecured emails and the fact that my company’s still being affected by an infection since over a month ago.

Well, not to say this’s my 1st phishing mail. I’ve got countless emails from many rich Africans who wants to share with me his wealth, princes, and even Jesus (imagine that). but never did I get such email with efforts taken to cover it’s identity, equipped with javascript rerouting scripts (refer to the bottom left of the screen capture) and Sender ID (the yellow box. Somehow Hotmail had detected the Sender ID trick. Shouldn’t be hard, I guess).

I know this is boring to you, but hey, who knows you got one of those Maybank2u’s phishing emails and you’re broke 3 hours after you entered your personal profile via the link.

So here’s the phising email that I got:

  1. Yup.. the cautious method is to never ever click a link inside an email… always retype the address…
